The “Company” tab has base information that needs to be filled in. The information is transferred to the estimate report printout.
The “Default Rates” require review and modifications as required for your Company.
“Pricing Categories” and Phase Names” are assigned and if you want to use the default price book do not make any changes. The “Phase Names” provide sub-totals within the estimate report.
The “Price book” has 5 columns whose values can be changed by selection similar to an excel spreadsheet. Do not change the “Code” since it’s the link to the “assembly” parts list. The primary values for pipe and fittings need to be the first review and may require changes based on your particular market. Sprinkler heads and devices are the next items. Make sure the common sprinklers that are used such as brass upright and chrome pendant are updated. The “Labor Hours” can be modified to your experience. As they stand with-in the provided pricing, the hours are a “Middle of the Road”. Labor is not a slam in warehouse nor the sloth speed of a Hospital. The labor assigned as “Distribution” is very much based on job site accessibility.
Any “Code” that starts with “A” is an assembly. It is suggested that if you disagree with an assembly – delete it and build a new one. Assembly listing within the price book cannot be altered it is only a value listing for the assigned category. The far-left column with an edit icon also calls out the assemblies. Any change made to an existing item in the price book will automatically update an associated assembly.
